This is being discussed in several threads. We need some advice - my buddy Ed is setting up for a starter, and I can see the writing on the wall - I turn 72 next year, and can envision not being able to pole vault in at some point.

I already know where to put the battery, and have already set the engine up for B&C. I have not so good experience with Sky-Tec, but understand they have made serious improvements. I can get my hands on a B&C easily for a trial run.

But the big question: two solenoids or one? Where is the best place to mount them? What works really well? What gauge wire are you all using? Are there smaller solenoids for this type application?
