Hay their,

I recently had an intermittent connection problem with my A-7 Mag Switch. In case any of you have been putting off getting into the thing from fear of the unknown, don't worry. They're completely Privateproof. The only thing you might want to watch is the backplate might be a little fragile after all these years and you don't want to bugger it up.

Inside, it's dirt simple. Nothing can come loose. It works or it doesn't. Once you look at it, it's one of those "Gee that's a great design" moments. I would take a Dremel with a 1/4" ball grinding burr and carefully clean out the dimples and sand the contacts with 250 W&D sandpaper. You're not trying to remove metal, just clean up the surfaces. Clean everything off and hit it with some Vaseline, then reassemble it. Just be careful bending over those little brass tabs and it will never give you another problem. Shouldn't take you more than about 20 minutes.

Another thing, if you're missing any of the original brass nuts that go on the bottom of the contact studs, Ace Hardware has them in the doodad section.
