Hello,
this is my first post here. I have lurked here for a bit, but have frequented supercub.org somewhat more as I have one of those overpowered 150 hp Super Cub things. The question I have is more a J-3 related question than a Super Cub question.

What are the differences between a J-3 and a PA-11? I’ve searched around on the internet and can’t really get a good handle on the differences. Even if it would do any good to go have a look we have no PA-11’s here in New Zealand to inspect.

I’ve done a search here and reading some posts, the PA-11 appears a lot more than a J-3 with a closed cowl, posts talk about different struts, different aileron cable runs in the wings and so it goes on. I note in the Univair catalogue the J-3 fuse frame part no. and the PA-11 fuse frame part no. are completely different.

Another way to pose the question, is what are the differences between a PA-18-95 and a PA-11?

Cheers,
Andrew.
