I was wondering about the amount of room for a tall pilot like myself (6'3") flying a PA-11 from the front seat. The plane I am looking to purchase has been totally refurbished which included Super Cub seats which are adjustable. The current owner is 6'1" and says he fits fine. I do not have any trouble flying a J-3 from the rear and even using the brakes with my size 14 feet.. However, when I am in the front seat of a J-3, I really have to fold myself up to get in. Once I am in it is not bad. This is the thing that I most concerned about this purchase. I just hate the thought of spending the money for an airline ticket, fly halfway across the country only to find out that I am going to be cramped and uncomfortable. Unfortunately there are no PA-11's close by for me to sit in to try it out. The owner did say the Super Cub seats do make a difference. I don't expect to have a huge amount of room because I will have to stop every couple of hours or so for fuel anyway. I used to own a Champ and I was fairly comfortable flying it from the front.
