New shackles

Hi, I am just making up my control cables and I noticed the quality of the new shackles. It is worthy of note that the shackles look forged and the excess material from the process is sometimes left unfettled on the inner surface.
If these are used without cleaning up there will be a point contact causing accelerated wear and a stress raiser......
Careful use of a rat-tail file sorted this one out, see the picture of the "new " shackle.

Just something to look out for especially when ordering over the net. Funny thing that these vital items have a certificate of comformity.
