Cubbers,
My 7-year old and I had a blast flying with another J-3 on a beautiful, calm sunrise flight from Olympia, WA to the Northwest Antique Airplace Club's annual fly-in at McMinnville, OR. http://www.nwaac.com/ Nothing better than spending the day surrounded by beautiful, antique airplanes. None of the fire breathing warbirds or exotic composite homebuilts, just the sweet barking of small Continentals, Warners, Kinners and a host of other old engines.
We sat under the wing , watched the small town airshow and ate airshow food all day. It was a wonderful father-son experience to share before I head back overseas in a couple of weeks.
The experience was capped off today be learning that our little, family treasure won "Best Post War Antique 1945 - 1957" It meant alot considering the amount of work (and $$) we've put into "Daisy" the 2 years we've owned it.
Mike-
