Hey guys,
We have just finished a top end rebuild & while in the process acquired shop overhauled MA-3SPA 10-4240-1 for our 1946 C85 Powered J3.( research tells me this is correct model for C85). Everything running sweetly until fuel level in fuse tank reached around 15 litres. At high angle of attack/ simulated go around engined coughed, managed to put her back down safely upon further run up tests & simulated climb (aircraft chocked on steep bank) engine would cough again & cut out. We are thinking its a fuel flow issue with low level / head pressure. Fuel flow checked through carby at around 330ml/minute at 15l in tank. Has anyone running this carby had similar issues & have you any suggestions. We would like to run with MS for mixture control & leaving fuel on (weeping with stromberg) & it also appeared to run smoother in the upper rev range. PS Complete fuel system checked, no induction leaks, primer checked, all delivery tubes clear, mags overhauled, new plugs & harness ,new gascolator, fuel shut of valve removed & inspected finger screen clear, no obstructions in finger screen in carby. Any help appreciated, thanks. Sorry about the metric measures that's how we do it here in Oz.
