I'm looking to buy a j-3. I suppose it varies a lot but what kind of empty weight would be considered normal or on the lighter side for a cub? I've got one spotted it's a 65 horse empty is 694. there is another one with an 85 that weights 805, is that normal to be that much heavier with the 85? over 100 lbs of useful load lost. just kind of wanted to get some ideas of what is normal and what is considered a heavy j-3 cub vs a light one.

My other question is how important is the bigger engine vs the 65? will the 65 work if want to ski it with two people?

Thanks!

Ryan
