While exploring the cause of a significant mag drop (on another post) we were looking for anything in the engine function that might indicate a problem. In addition to finding a sticky exhaust valve on #1 we noticed that the lifter on the intake on #3 slowly bleeds off allowing the valve to close under spring tension. The other valves did not seem to do this. The lifter is not always flat, just slowly goes flat over the course of 20-30 seconds. I would assume that under operating conditions this slow bleed off would not hinder operation, however, we wondered if it is an indication of a developing problem.
