From AVweb.com(I'm not able to listen to the podcast)

"AVEMCO'S INSURANCE ADVICE FOR LSA PILOTS
From an insurance perspective, the Light Sport Aircraft category is off to a rocky start. Early numbers suggest you're about twice as likely to have an accident in your LSA than a certified aircraft, but insurance underwriter Avemco isn't hitting the panic button. President Jim Lauerman spoke with AVweb's Russ Niles about what LSA pilots can do to reduce the toll quickly and painlessly."

As one who might be considering a J3 or other LSA in the future, what are your experiences with insurance? Are premiums higher? If so, any difference between a LSA rated pilot and a private(or higher) flying an LSA aircraft medically self certified..etc. What if any are the insurance ramifications of LSA vs Private pilot in the same aircraft?

Thanks,

Jack
