I realize that indicated speeds at high angles of attack are inaccurate and vary wildly from plane to plane, but today I was curious and stalled the J-3 at full power to see what the indicated stall speed was. At 2640 rpm, the stall was about 33 mph indicated with just me (214 pounds) on board. I had about 4 gallons of fuel. No VG's. There was a barely perceptable nose drop and no wingdrop of notice. What sorts of numbers are you guys seeing?
