I hate this thing. Just sitting here with the unit on, and the manual open to the page that tells how to program frequencies. I do everything it says to do, and it just goes back to slot 1 and replaces ATIS with Ground.

Is there any source that does a better job of explaining this task? I recall actually mastering this procedure on an A-24, but I cannot remember what the trick was.

There are so many features on this radio that it is probably going to be useless. Who has the time to read a manual when the tower decides to split frequencies?

I am ready to put the spare A-20 in, but the Stearman guys want this more modern radio. Yuk!

Why am I putting the portable in? That neat Becker has failed again(!) and fixing it involves a round trip to Florida and a flat fee of something like $500.

Decision time will involve a nice, reliable panel mount comm - anything but a Becker.
