The time has come for me to install a starter in my C-85 J3.

I've about decided to do this without installing an alternator. My problem is that I have not been able to find an approved battery.

I know that the Hawker/Oddessey SBS J16 is an approved battery but only for installation in Super Cubs. This would be fine and solve my problem, but I would like to be legal, if possible. Other Batteries are too heavy.

Does anyone know where I can find a 337 for installation of this battery or any light weight battery for that matter in a J-3 using B and C or Skitec starter?

Also, if I have missed something, is there another way to make this or a similar installation happen without involving the hassle of field approvals, etc.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. The Cub Club does not have this 337
