This afternoon I was flying my Cub home after work. I'm flying into Beechriver airport which is uncontrolled. I report at 5 miles to traffic that I am inbound for landing from the west. The radio operator responds with the winds, active runway ,and NO REPORTED TRAFFIC. I'm approaching the airport 300 ft above pattern altitude ,crossing runway 19 so I can enter a downwind for that runway. While directly over the airport and just before my radio call to enter downwind after crossing midfield on a 45 a Kingair called in 5 miles out and would be entering a base for 19. I immediately repoted over the airport and entering downwind for 19. I flew the pattern and reported a short base and final into 19. I landed and made the 1st turnoff and cleared 19 with a radio call to traffic. The radio operator came over with chocks and asked why I did not speak with the Kingair pilot directly on the radio. I told him that there was no need because the fellow radioed that he had heard my calls. The airport manager told me while I was waiting on my son to pick me up that I should have allowed the faster KingAir to land while I waitedbecause he is so much faster than a Cub . Keep in ming I'm directly over the airport when this guy calls in 5 miles out. To my knowledge the KingAir guy was not offended that he had to extend his final a little bit. Did I handle that correctly?
