Cubbers,

Not Cub related, but you guys appreciate flying legacy's. I just returned from the 40th anniversary National Stearman Fly-In in Galesburg, IL that my father helped start so many years ago. There were 133 Stearmans on the field by Saturday morning.

More special was that my Dad's Stearman was on loan from the current owner who purchased it when my dad passed away. I got my first ride in that plane when I was 5 flying on his lap, and spread his ashes over the grass strip at Galesburg in it when I was 12. I haven't seen or sat in the plane since 1983, and it was pretty special to run my hands over the instruments once again. I spent most of the weekend touching and inspecting every inch of it.

It's my intent to try to buy the plane in the near future if it works out. It sure would be nice to have it in the family again, and pass that legacy on to my two sons...along with our J-3 of course ;D
