My friend Jeff, for whom I built a 1/24-scale Cub model, took my wife and daughters for rides in his Cub Friday afternoon. Weather was dicey all day, but it cleared up just in time to accommodate the rides and leave glass-smooth air behind the front after it passed through. Jeff mounted a GoPro camera to the jury strut and got terrific video of each flight.

Auxiliary Daughter went first, and we all crossed our fingers because she's always been our fearful one. She's 11 years old now and conquered a major fear hurdle a couple weeks ago when she participated on an awesome zip line course and actually enjoyed it. Feeling pretty full of herself, she wanted to go first on Friday, and ended up loving it so much that she went a second time after the others had taken their turns. First pic is a screen capture from the GoPro video as they passed over us on takeoff. Her smile and wave were priceless.

Primary Daughter went next. She's completely fearless and has always jumped at any chance to try something new and exciting. Second pic was snapped as Jeff was getting her ready. Her face says it all.

Mama went last and, like me on my ride back in March, she had to ride in the back. She stands over 5'10", so it was the only option. Last pic was snapped by her on her flight. It's now the desktop background on my laptop. Great fun was had by all. :)
