Continental Tappet covers on Millennium cylinders?

Hi from Downunder. We purchased a C85 from a guy in the US with Millennium cylinders and tappet covers. We would like to make it look more original by putting Continental covers on instead. Is it permissible, possible, recommended or not a good idea?
