Hello to all! Glad to see such a dedicated site. I have some time in Cessna's and stick time in a '47 J-3. My friend who had owned the plan had lost his life in it 2 years ago. I have had many times flying and just enjoying the fellowship with him and the whole "Cub" mystique. Now I am planning to build/buy/restore an aircraft in the near future. I have experience in A/P service routines and some fabric work. Is this the wrong heading here? I want to fly for fun in something more than an ultralight, but would like to be able to travel some. The C-152 is very appealing, but, well if you have any time in a J-3...........you know that is the way to go. You can only treasure each moment in a craft like a Cub. I miss my friend, not only to get stick time, but just him being around. He passed away having fun......flying in his J-3. He will always be my friend and I will never forget. So let me know what you think and give me a heading vector before I waste a lot of time and $. Experience and hands on is a piece of good advice to me at this point.
Regards,Mike
