When I converted my J3 Clipped Wing many years ago from the A-65 to a C-85 I had to fabricate a left front engine mounted cowl bracket. I used the right bracket as a model. The finished product looked like it came from Piper.

I have offered to make another bracket for a friend who is converting from an A-65 to C-90 in his J3.

So two questions.

First my bracket design mounted to the forward cylinder base nuts like the original A-65 right side did. I have the pattern for a C-85. I should know this but is the C-90 case the same dimension in width from the center split to the cylinder base and is the C-90 cylinder base nut pattern the same as the C-85 and is the cylinder on the left side in the same place laterally on both engines? Or asked another way would a left front cowl bracket that fit a C-85 work without modification on a C-90?

Second. Is there a drawing of the actual Piper bracket used for a C-85 or C-90 installation. And where can I get it.

Thanks
Bruce
