I searched an old forum archive and it appears there is some debate about the stiff brake tie rod between the rear brake cylinder, and the front brake pedal. My project came with a cable connecting the two. Of course, since there is not return spring specified for the front brake pedal, it sort of flops around with the cable. The rod would clearly take care of that. However the cable looks like it has the advantage of not bending every time someone carelessly or accidentally steps on it getting in the airplane. Since I'm after originality, I'd probably go with the rod. Univair sells it for almost 40 bucks apiece. Seems to me that they could be fabricated for a fraction of that. Has anyone fabricated these things, and can give me some guidelines.
Also, the concensus is that the front and back removable part of the control sticks should be the same length. I have a 13 inch in the front and a 15 inch in the back. I think perhaps they should both be the longer stick. Still looking for some folks to take a peak and make a measurement of their sticks for me. Looking for the length of the removeable part of the stick..approximately.
Cheers, and happy rebuilding.
