Is the rudder on a J-3 supposed to hit the stops on the tail post or should the rudder pedals bottom out first? Same question about ailerons, should they hit the stops on the middle attach bracket (wood spar wings) or should the stops at the torque tube be adjusted to prevent that? I have the J-3 service manual but I didn't see anything about limits of control surface travel in it. I'm almost done with a complete restoration after 4 1/2 years.
