I’m getting my wood spar wing ready for covering, just installing the brackets for the aileron balance cable pulley attachment to the rear of the front spar at the top of the strut. These mount with a spacer on a bolt attaching the aileron attaching brackets to the spar.
my question is, should this bracket be free to rotate slightly, so the pulley can line up with the natural lie of the cable, or should they be tight and presumably parallel with the spar? I’m talking about the bracket that attaches to the bolt going through the spar, not the bracket that holds the pulley which is attached to this.
hopefully I’ve managed to attach a poor picture of the bracket!
