Still learning about my L-4. I can find no wing serial numbers, but construction details are pretty obvious. The wings have wooden spars. The ribs are of riveted metal construction with many metal pieces going to make up each rib. The curved rib pieces are corrugated. Is this the kind of construction that one would expect to see in a L-4A with a May, 1943 roll out?

Many of the major metal componants inside of the wings are yellow, including the large pillars to which the spars are bolted. Is this the way Piper did it, and only the external surfaces and cabin interiors were painted to Army specs?

Thanks!
