My wife and I just had our first child, and we are now toying with the idea of moving back to Florida from SoCal. We love California, but the housing market is just too ridiculous over here and neither of us want a 2 hour commute to buy a house where the prices are more reasonable. Naturally my first thought is about the long haul to fly the Cub from the West Coast to the East Coast.

My question, for those of you who have made the flight(s): What distances did you plan for your typical legs between refueling stops?
I’m thinking of keeping them to about 100-120 SM. My cub (75HP) averages 4.5 gallons per hour, so this should provide a decent safety margin between stops. (~7.5 gallons burned per leg)

Any suggestions/advice/stories you’d like to share from any of you who have experienced a long distance Cub haul are welcome
