The original data plate on my A-65 (O-170) is barely readable, only the serial number can be made out, the engine has a logbook and the engine was on the aircraft when it left the Army in 1945. I want to use this engine because of it's historical value and am in the process of packing up the case to send it to Div-Co for certification. The engine last flew in 1952 and still had the original light (AD) piston pins in it. Last overhaul was at OCAD in 1945 right before the aircraft was sold as surplus.
Do I need to worry about plate replacement or if it does need a new one what is the correct procedure for getting it done.
Thanks for your help.
Steve
