With the recent talk of old sprayer mods and fat Lycoming engines...here is a pic from a Preferred Airparts calendar. If you can't read the caption, it says:
"1947 Piper PA-11 N4614M, sn 11-118, a "cutback" duster with wing spades, at Midland, TX in 1954. A 125-hp O-290-G Lycoming with GPU baffles had replaced the A-65 or C-90 Continental, to carry a big load on a hot day! Yep, this is the way things used to be. Its partner PA-11, N4742H, 11-602 is behind it."
