The interior covering is looking good, Poly brush is sprayed on after the first brushed coat, and ready for the Poly Spray, so now my thoughts are beginning to turn to the exterior. I've noticed in a couple of rebuild pix I've found on the internet that some folks choose to terminate the exterior cover at the verticle U-channel that that the rear of the boot cowl screws to. Others, it seems take the exterior cover all the way to the front. What did piper do? My project had the old exterior cover clear to the firewall. I can't come up with a strong technical rationale either way. The weight savings might be part of it, but there may be something I'm missing if Piper chose to stop at the rear of the boot cowl. Reading up about Piper, maybe they were so cheap that they wanted to save fabric IF they chose to cover that way. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
