I did a quick search and couldn't find an answer.
I have a C-90-8 on my cub. About 150 hrs smoh.
I have been running Phillips 20w50
I heard that for aircraft that don't fly very often the multi weight oil may not provide the same protection between flights as a straight weight oil. The thought is that the reduced viscosity will prevent the oil from staying on the various internal parts while it is sitting.
I am in Northwest ohio and thinking I should switch to a straight weight oil, 50 in the summer and 40 in the winter.
My IA doesn't think very highly of the Phillips anyway.
Any thoughts?
