Surgery was in Winchester March 12. Went back to their ER with 10+ pain(w/o meds) and admitted for 10 days about 4 weeks ago. They turned me out with 2 days worth of pills when Blue Cross said goodby. I considered that almost a death sentence. There goal seemed to be to me off IV pain drugs so they could kick me out? As far as the surgeons are concerned, it it ain't on the MRI, surgery success! Go to someone else for pain "management". Two days pills and appointment in late July I had other leftover drugs at home and "managed" for almost a week. I wanted to make it thru the weekend because my GP was gone but had to go to ER in Cumberland last Sat. a week ago. Marcia is a PACU nurse there and called in some favors. Had a spinal block and drained two kidney cysts of 800cc just in case(we didn't think the cyst were causing pain either before or after surgery)
I'm now on a patch and a pill every two hours but still hurt. Maybe try additional blocks.....Cause still unknown and don't know if pain level is actually any better w/o the patch/meds. Cause maybe nerve scaring which takes time to heal but don't know how long. Thought about going back to Balt/Wash area to see an "expert" and stay with my kids but unless you know someone, appointment will be in several weeks to months.....?

To be fair about the 10 days back at Winchester. My surgeon was on vacation the first weekend, was there for a couple days and then left for a meeting. I saw him twice. Was seen mostly by the Group's PA's. Winchester is screwed-up in that you need to be discharged to go to the Pain Clinic, IF you can get in. There are other issues but for the most part I felt abandoned

Hanging in there,Thanks in advance for your prayers and concern

Jack
