My Cub has an O200 conversion. Recently during the preflight mag check I experienced a 200 rpm drop on the right mag. Prior to this the mag drop had been around 75 rpm and nearly even. Suspecting a bad mag, we replaced the magneto. No change. We checked and double checked the timing. We then replaced the plugs. No change. Then the harness. same problem. Next we tested, then disconnected the A7 switch. Nothing. Finally we replaced the intake gaskets and hoses suspecting an induction leak. Nothing gained. Compression is 78+ and the engine runs great on the left mag. We have also checked to make sure left is actually left and visa versa. Three A&P/IAs are stumped. Anyone have an idea what could be going on?
