The other day I noticed a fuel drip coming from the fuel sleeve as it enters the fuel bowl at the drain. I took a quick look and when I returned it was dry. I decided to have a closer look today and I am very glad I did. I had assumed that the fuel line was an all mechanical fuel line as all my other aircraft had this type of setup. As I pulled off the safety wire and pushed the firesleeve back, I was VERY surprised to see it is a push on fuel line on a barb fitting. The clamp was loose enough that the fuel line was close to coming off the barb. This was probably due to vibration on the clamp. Had I known it was this type of fitting, I would certainly have checked it earlier. I very nearly had fuel unavailable. I think I may have a conventional fuel hose made up.
