Well, after several years of building and 10 hours of wheel flying, we put the 100 hp two door J3 on Baumann 1500 floats. We had a 10kt crosswind on the seaway today in New Iberia La. It got off the water in 8 seconds with no control problems. With the two big water rudders it could turn circles both ways in the 100 ft wide canal. With full throttle the nose lifted instantly and on releasing back pressure it jumped up on the step sweet spot and lifted off before 40 mph indicated. It flew like the Cub it is with no tendency to yaw. I'll put it thru more flight checks tomorrow to determine stall and max speeds. I'm really pleased with the combination, especially takeoff performance. We have a Mac 74"x 38" prop on the 0-200. Bill
