This coming May, International Aerobatic Club Chapter 25 of Houston is sponsoring a contest in Giddings aimed at entry level competitors. The event will be limited to Primary and Sportsman categories, and will also include a modified Primary sequence for RV pilots. The RV Primary sequence does not have a spin as a required maneuver, making it much more accessible to a larger group of would be competitors. The event, called the "Two Design Contest", is set up to level the playing field amongst pilots by limiting the type of aircraft that can be flown to Cessna Aerobats, Citabrias, Decathlons, Super Decathlons, Cubs, Super Cubs, Taylorcraft and other similar airplanes, and the RV 3/4/6/etc. series. A Super Decathlon will be available for rent at the contest, and safety pilots will be available for anyone with a two-seater mount. Parachutes will also be available for those needing one. Chapter 25 will sponsor all first time competitors by covering membership dues to both the IAC organization, and to Chapter 25. This contest is designed to encourage RV pilots and other would be aerobatic competitors to come and experience IAC competition first hand.

If you have ever been interested in aerobatic competition, but thought it was outside of your reach, this is a good opportunity to get involved. Even if you're not quite ready to get upside down yourself, come over to Giddings to see what it's all about.

Time: Pilot briefing 10:00am
