Flying my Cub back to Alaska from Arizona this week I found a tall stick of rebar sticking up near a taxiway in Northern British Columbia. It was probably placed by the plow crews to mark the taxiway. It did not have a reflector facing the runway and I didn't see it until it was too late. It tore a 2 inch gash into the fabric at the wing tip. What is the best way to patch a small tear like this? I put some reinforced clear duct tape over it to return home and it holds fine. I want to make a proper repair and paint to match. Thanks for the advice.
