I've always loved this photo. Don't know where it's located, most likely the States somewhere. Don't know who it's credited to, maybe Uncle Sam, but I give credit to whomever snapped it!

Crisp, clear, Kodachrome colors. It's either an O-59 or a Cub the Army re-configured. All green OD paint, the black painted propeller, no air filter, reel antenna, wind generator on the gear, US Army on the bottom of the wings.

It's cold, it's winter, not a cloud in the sky. The guard on duty. Two young guys in the Cub on some kind of mission, probably training. Full tank of gas. The air ducts taped off, just like I used to do in the winter. Flat terrain, sandy taxi way.

Had to be cramped in there if they had a radio set up, without the regular L-4 map desk.
