Here is a great event, on a beautiful grass strip on the rural Eastern Shore of Maryland. This is the annual Chili Fiesta Fly-In. They have sent special invitations to every Piper Cub owner from J2 to PA22 within a couple hundred miles. Also, since the Stearman based there has just come out of restoration, they have mailed the Stearman folks. Last year there were close to 150 aircraft, with many J3s and other antique Cubs, several very rare antiques, and a huge variety of taildraggers plus some newer aircraft and Experimentals.
The people from around the countryside drive in to see all the this, and bring all sorts of chili and other great food. It is a real fun circus.
The main rule is don't fly into each other, and always be legal. They don't register attendees, or any of that official stuff. Amazing old airplanes coming and going all day, flyovers, you name it.
Hope to see many of you there.
The pictures are from their December Open Hanger Party, but they give you an idea of who shows up.
