Winter flying? Ha! With this warm spell on the east coast, it was a picnic today. None of that long-john stuff this time, first flight of 2007. Missed January 1, because of winds. Today was calm at 7:20 am sunrise over the Skyline Drive, Virginia, and only 5 MPH down RW 09 by noon. Nice flight from Front Royal up to Winchester, practiced wheel landings and fooling around. Cessna entered the pattern and actually kept it in close; must have had an old-time instructor. Temped to say something, but left well enough alone. Bounced back at FRR, so did some more nice ones to make the airplane (and me) feel better. Great day. Then drove up to Waterford and visited my one and only Grandson. Life is good!

Have you made your first 2007 flight yet?
