I need to fabricate the trim for my right rear window of my J-5A. Window blew out last year and took all but a small piece of the trim with it. I replaced the window with a piece of Lexan. It mounts on the outside of the frame and is held on with sheet metal screws. The trim overlays the window and has a slight rolled edge to compensate for the thickness of the window.
What type and thickness of aluminum should I order? The trim is about 5/8" wide. I thought I could roll the edge using a plywood pattern and "burnishing" the edge over the form. It is a "D" shaped window so one piece of trim is straight and I can make the curve in two pieces.
