Guy's this is the first aircraft I have ever owned with a dope finish. All of my Bird Dogs were two part satin finishes and the J-4 was an Air Tech two part matte finish. You could wipe them down with mineral spirits with no damage to the paint.

This plane has a matte(almost flat) dope finish on the fabric and a flat enamel finish on the metal. Does anyone have a similar finish and what are you using to clean the aircraft. I don't know if pledge would be the right cleaner with this flat paint. It looks very realistic but lubricant and fuel stains are going to be a real challenge along with bug removal, the bugs really stick to the flat finish.
