I have a problem with one of the case bolts / dowel bolts and need to remove and replace it.
Does anyone know what the actual size is? I'm thinking it's 1/4 28 but not sure.

For reference - Using the
"Maintenance and Overhaul Manual"
Continental Models
A,50, A65, A75 and A80
Aircraft Engines
MARCH, 1944
Revised Jan, 1944
Revised Feb, 1948

On Page 50 Fig 30A Part 14A - shown as part number 24252, Screw, Dowel - Crankcase Flange. Is that a 1/4 28 thread and are the other bolts (19A) also 1/4 28? Do they all use the same nut? (Pt# 2437)

The threads are significantly damaged and that bolt/dowel needs to be replaced. Problem is HOW? The bolt is a very tight fit and the bolt head is impossible to turn. The nut came off with some effort revealing a damaged thread and nut.

I need every conceivable opinion on how to get that out without damaging the case or the hole it goes through. I believe it is an alignment case half alignment bolt.

IDEAS PLEASE??
