I finally had the chance to fly the Cub today. I flew it about 1hr. There's a major problem:

The trim doesn't work (well, you can't trim the nose up past neutral). It can trim down, but not up. I looked at another Cub and I see that the piece connected to the stabilizers is installed wrong--possibly upside down! Hence, it can't trim up past neutral. I checked the old Piper drawings and I see that the installation on my Cub appears to be upside down. The other Cub owner said it was just a matter of removing one of the stabilizers, disconnecting a few bolts, etc. to fix it. But he hasn't seen mine yet.

With this said, what kind of bad news can I expect? Is this going to be a major repair? Or, is it just a matter of removing one of the stabilizers and disconnecting the part (sorry I dont' know what it is called) correctly?

The cable appears to be lubricated and everything else is fine. I have a few mechanics ready to look at this, but thought I'd ask here first before they put their paws on it. I want to know how expensive this could be...
