My friend doing a J-4 restoration is having trouble getting his brake cylinders rebuilt. He says they are from a 1938 or 39 Plymouth made by Wagner. It has a reservoir cylinder on the firewall that feeds the two cylinders under the floorboards. Does anyone know where to get the internal parts to rebuild these? He tells me that new replacement units are available, but they are an "updated" unit that has the reservoir cast right into the cylinder; apparently to get the reservoir off or the firewall. These won't work as there is no way to fill them. He tried a different make but can't get a hard pedal and we found that the volume of the new ones were about 1/3 that of the old ones. The old ones have a 1" bore and special pistons that have check valves in them. Any help would be appreciated.
