Christmas Eve, 2007, Berryville, Virginia.
Brisk, clear skies, bright sunshine.
Lots of kids and adults gathered in a field strewn with bales of hay.
Hay for a Hay Ride, Hay for seats.

All the kid’s eyes were scanning the sky
Hoping that Santa would come flying by.

Then we all heard a powerful rumble
Could it be an airplane from which Santa would tumble?

A red dot in the sky just grew and grew
Until it got so big we all just knew

It had to be Santa in his UPF Seven
Right on time at a quarter to ‘leven.

Out from the airplane Santa did wiggle,
As all the boys and girls gave a big giggle.
