I will be flying my 1946, 65HP j-3 from the front seat if that is possible. There are a couple of items that I do not understand when I checked the TCDS to calculate my weight and balance:

1)...the C.G. range is +10.6 to +22.7
2)...the empty weight C.G range is +8.5 to +20.3 if placard solo flying in the rear seat only

Which range to I use? My plane has the placard. Why are there two different envelopes given?
