My C85-12F has a Stromberg carb with an operating mixture control. At 5,000' MSL I use it all the time. The only problem is that the stock lever arm is to short. I've been on the internet looking at information about the Stromberg carb's and
I found something by Neal F. Wright of Sunnyvale CA. It's an extender lever arm. It makes the mixture travel move from 1" to 2 1/2". That will give me a much finer adjustment without the small lever starving the engine if I pull to much and that's not hard to do with such a small travel. The wives tails about it not working is so false as long as your above 5,000' MSL. My question is, has anybody tried this extender on there Stromberg. Knowing full well that you must be flying above 5,000' MSL. If you have. Do you feel that it makes it easier to get that sweet spot with no sweat. The neat thing is that it fits over the smaller one and is just bolted tight with the smaller one still in place. TKS....
