i'm one of the j3 cub forum members who is really a taylorcraft imposter, but i like the corporate knowledge available at the forum. i read a thread recently about a65 cub normal oil temps. i found the oat plus 70 degrees approximates my temps with a closed cowl and my crankcase baffle blocked off for most of the flying year. i've found without blocking off crankcase cooling, it's almost impossible to get oil temp up into a reasonable temp where moisture would be burned off thru evap most of the year (northeast ops). do any of you cub flyers also have tcraft experience who can comment. how about you cub flyers-any concern about oil temps not getting high enough? or do you just go with the way piper designed the enging/plane combo as right for long term engine life. thanks.
