prop vibration or not?

I had the same problem as an other poster, the vibration on run up was not noticed. In the air i had a vibration. I also noticed a gap at the front of the wing root on the bottom next to the wind screen. I taped over the 3/8th inch gap with tape,and went flying. I now have no vibration. before the tape it would vibrate the gps that i mount on the back of the front seat so much i had a hard time reading it.
I guess i was barking up the correct tree this time.
