The cowling on the O-58A has been in storage since 1951. Sometimes in the late 1940's the aircraft was painted white and the Olive drab on the Cowlings is visible where the hastily applied white paint is peeling off. The yellow green zinc chromate is still intact under the Olive Drab. This photo was taken in bright sunlight and the 1943 color card # 613 was used for comparison.

Some of the OD paint on the cowling is slightly darker where it has been exposed to oil or solvents. Also it is possible that the olive drab on the cowling is an Army repaint from 1943 or 1944 and not the original factory paint, we simply have no way to know for sure.
