I reserved the original N-Number that my J-3 was built with and just recently got the letter approving the number change. The numbers are currently just decals on the rudder and I purchased new vinyl decals with the new numbers.
Does this require an A&P sign off to change the numbers? Only thing the paperwork says is to log the change in the logbook and then contact the FSDO. Doesn’t say who can or should perform the work.
