Aircraft delivered to Shallowater, TX to a B-25 bomber and glider training base. Returned to Piper aircraft for upgrades and put in storage until end of the war. Pulled out of storage and sent to Oklahoma for dispersal. Sold to CAP in Pensacola, FL with reg. number N1971M which it still has today. It only had slightly over 200 hrs when sold to the CAP. CAP later sold the plane to Ferguson Flying Service in Florida. Used as a trainer then sold to a lady in Alabama. Airplane was sold to owners in Georgia as a basket case and it was restored in 2005.
